Salah Muhumed
Storyteller. Filmmaker.  Cinematographer.
It all started with a kid from the Horn of Africa.
Salah Muhumed is a documentarist, filmmaker, photographer, poet, and advocate for self-expression.
After reading "Into the Wild" by Jon Krakauer, Salah experienced a profound shift in perspective. He left behind unfulfilling circumstances, bought a camera, and transformed himself through self-reflection, self-transcendence, and, most importantly, self-expression. Beyond his work with the camera, Salah is dedicated to uplifting his community and enriching his soul in the beauty of empowering the youth.
Since November 2023, Salah's work has been featured on Al Jazeera, Ball Is Life, Runnerspace, Human Development Fund and much more. He has taken part in a wide variety of creative projects.
Salah is the founder and owner of Kayd Media Co. a wedding filmmaking company,  a college student minoring in film, a Video Production Intern at Pink Beanie Productions, Salah is apart of the Life2Launch Creative Agency, and most importantly Salah is a community member- volunteering countless hours to ensure the stories of his community are told.
Salah loves to spend his time with his family, reading books ( his favorite being Butterfly's Burden by Mahmoud Darwish), engaging in conversations to expand his perspective, reconnecting with his Somali Heritage, & pouring life back into his community.
In the future, Salah aspires to become a professional documentary filmmaker, to direct a film in his homeland, Somalia, & empower Somali youth with the power of the tool of self-expression.
